To celebrate Bloomberg Radio’s entrance into the Boston DMA (the first departure outside of New York) we completely took over South Station for a full day-long live broadcast the center of the station. And this was not just a banner and some signage, the New York-based hosts on hand, reporters, producers and more were on hand to bring the power and energy of the newsroom to life. Throughout the day we brought Boston-area business luminaries to center stage for interviews from CEO of Legal Sea Foods Roger Berkowitz, President of Cumberland Ari Haseotes, and many others. The live-broadcast was just a sampling of Bloomberg’s signature programming and up-to-date market coverage, in addition to local news, traffic, weather and sports that the new station would cover.
In addition to the in-station spectacle, we were fortunate to partner with Starbucks to distribute free cups of coffee and tea to thousands of cold commuters, as well Bloomberg T-shirts, mugs, and hats to a lucky few.
Boston was Bloomberg Radio’s first local expansion beyond its home in New York and served as the template for future growth.
