The Biggest Names in Sports Gather

The Bloomberg Sports Business Summit, which conviened key figures from across the sports industry – including league commissioners, team owners, former players and sports finance experts. Hosted at the Bryant Park Grill in New York to examine the business of sports, including financing stadiums, bringing in revenue from broadcast and licensing rights, league strategies, and monetizing college sports. The program will also provide insight on what the most valuable franchises are and how investors can tap into them; how to buy and build a franchise; the outlook for mergers and acquisitions; and strategies for buying teams.

With the billion dollar sale of the Los Angeles Clippers, LeBron James’ return to Cleveland and the most successful World Cup to date, 2014 was a big year for the business of sports. To examine these events and the future of the business, Bloomberg hosted The Bloomberg Business of Sports Summit, featured industry-leading speakers, including National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver, who will discuss some of this year’s biggest deals; Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber, who will look at lessons learned from the most successful World Cup in the tournament’s history; and Avenue Capital CEO and Co-Founder Marc Lasry, who will explore the potential business opportunities with his new team, the Milwaukee Bucks.
