An Evening With James Franco and Tori Spelling

Lets be clear. When something is referred to as a ‘Lifetime Movie’ it’s usually not a good thing. Which is why, when James Franco announced he was remaking Lifetime’s 1996 movie-of-the-week masterpiece, Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? in honor of the film’s 20th anniversary, Vulture was intrigued.

To celebrate the launch, Vulture hosted the world premiere screening and post-show discussion with the cast and creative. Franco’s revamp (they lean heavily on the pun) included some pretty serious plot changes (like making the whole thing a lesbian-vampire love affair) but in the end, we knew we were able to take part in one of the rare moments when a Lifetime Movie was really comedic gold.
